March 2, 2020 at 12:55 pm in reply to: Statement 2/14 and more–please please spell out what you’re talking about #349dac2019ParticipantWe understand that you are asking for more clarity in regards to the statement Vogue Knitting released last week. We had deleted a social media post, in which we announced a giveaway on Instagram for a Karl Lagerfeld Knitting Kit produced by The Woolmark Company. We did not consider Lagerfeld’s controversial reputation and should have done more research before making the post. After consulting with the Diversity Advisory Council, we realized that by deleting the post and not releasing a statement, we silenced our community. As our statement mentioned, going forward we will be reviewing our internal processes regarding what we post and who we choose to promote on social media. For the full details of our statement, see here https://dacforum.sohopublishing.com/statement-2-14-20/

dac2019ParticipantVogue Knitting/Vogue Knitting LIVE is a craft magazine and event, and our expertise and focus are to bring our customers the best fashion, patterns, and classes available. Vogue Knitting/Vogue Knitting LIVE is apolitical, and we believe political commentary and discussion are better suited for more appropriate periodicals and forums. We recognize that inclusivity and representation are a question of human rights, not politics. The DAC will work towards recommendations for institutional changes and additional programming, all to ensure Vogue Knitting is incorporating exemplary practices, programs, and individuals that embody a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
